Nestled against the Cairngorm National Park and only 6 miles from Kirriemuir, Falls of Holm bed and breakfast, in Glenisla on the Angus/Perthshire border, is a great weekend base for bird watchers or for those who just appreciate nature. For bird watchers, both Kinnordy Loch (rspb.org.uk website - loch of kinnordy) and Lintrathen Loch (birdlife.org website - Lintrathen Loch) are very close by. Both lochs have hides which are open to the public all year round. Montrose Basin (ecosse.net website - Montrose Basin), a magnet for bird watchers, is also only 40 minutes drive. At Falls of Holm nature walks have been designed around the farm for the enjoyment of our visitors. Take a stroll through the hillside flower meadow, along the edge of the burn or through the garden grounds to the orchard. Alternatively, just sit back and observe it all from the comfort of our lounge or patio.
The glens of Angus have a superb natural heritage and are well worth a visit for nature enthusiasts. The glens form the southern edge of the Cairngorm National Park and whether you are keen to climb the Angus hills, explore the local nature hot spots or whether your preference is to relax in the beautiful environs of Falls of Holm a special experience awaits. |
